How do I shield DVR from plasma TV RFI?

My plasma TV is causing my DVR to malfunction.

Certain functions on the DVR work only intermittently, and the unit often freezes in pause mode. The DVR company has sent me two replacement units. They both exhibit the same problem. I've gone through all the obvious troubleshooting - remote batteries, ferrite cores, location of DVR, HDMI cable.

I know the TV is the cause because all DVR functions work properly when I turn off the TV.

The problem seems to improve when I place a sheet of aluminum foil over the DVR. This is not a solution, as the foil would inhibit proper air circulation.

I'm thinking the problem is RFI. I doubt if it's infrared interference because at one point the DVR was placed under a shelf which blocked line-of-sight with the TV. I've tried coiling up some of the DVR's power cord, but it doesn't help.

Is there a solution for this, or would it be fair for the DVR company to accept a return and refund my money?

TV: Samsung PN59D550 59" plasma

DVR: Channel Master CM-7000PAL

Thanks.
